Summertime!

Summer has begun for teachers like me. This year, however, the weather has been unpredictable. Two days last week were scorchers, where we needed the air conditioner. Then it became cold enough to need the fireplace on to take the chill out of the air in the house. Ahhh, summer in Wisconsin...you never know from year to year what it will be like. Unfortunately, summer is never long enough for me.
Next week, I will be in Lima, Peru with the juniors and seniors from church. Sounds like it will be quite a trip! I'm excited to be able to get into a school and teach a little English. It should be fun! We are all wondering what is in store for us for the rest of the week. We all know that with missions, flexibility is the key! Waiting and listening to God lead us is extremely important on any trip.

Until next week!

Beginning

Ok, time to start the blog again. Wait, I've never started? Well, not on this one, but there have been others. One of my students and I, along with the class, blogged while she was gone for a month. Pretty good for a 5 almost 6 year old. (I think she had a little help from her parents.) The class and I were able to learn about Thailand and all of her adventures there. What a fun way to stay connected and learn about another culture. This year we may have to do it with a class in South Korea. That would be fun!

Ahh, the beginning of the school year! New crayons (can you smell them?), new shoes, new clothes, new teacher...time to head back to school! Time to prepare for the upcoming year. There is so much to get ready in a Kindergarten class! Can't wait until it is completed! Hurry, hurry! The fresh little faces will be at the door waiting to get in soon. Every year is exciting! I enjoy seeing the kids faces when they enter (Wow, they are so young)! Then I enjoy their faces on the last day, not because they are leaving, but because of how they changed throughout the year (Wow, look at how they've grown).

This blog is just beginning. Hopefully it will blossom as well as my students!

How to start?

Let's see...how should I start? Do I describe who is in the family? No, then I'd probably leave someone out. Tell about how the family came over from Europe? No, I've already forgotten the information. Tell you what we've been doing? Nothing much. Tell you that our family reunion isn't going to happen this year? That's a possibility. But instead I'm going to leave you all hanging until I write again. Gee, what are friends for?
